Spinal Vibe offers a wide range of stereo options to simulate the recording of rotating speakers, but what if you want to reproduce dual rotary speakers configurations such as David Gilmour’s legendary (custom made) “Doppola” speakers?
It’s actually pretty easy, using two instances of the plug-in inside PatchWork, one for the left speaker and the other one for the right speaker, as shown in the video below.
“Brain Damage” / Dual Rotary Speakers
3 Signal Paths
It’s actually not just two speakers in the example above. There are three signal paths, which creates these interesting univibe-style holes in the spectrum (the rotated signals being mixed with the “dry” signal from the static guitar amp speaker). If you deactivate the “dry” signal path, the result is not as good sounding.
It is very important to have slightly different settings for left and right instances of Spinal Vibe so that the rotation is not identical when launched in sync, resulting in a mono effect.
Enjoy!
