Dual Mono Compressors With PatchWork

Did you know that PatchWork, our universal patchbay for plug-ins, lets you process left and right channels separately, with different plug-ins?

Here is an example with a dual mono 1176 compressor setup, check it out!

You can of course apply the same principle to any other type of audio plug-in.

By the way you could do the same without using parallel chains, simply adding the compressors in series, one on the left channel only, and the next one on the right channel only. Since they work on different channels, they do not affect each other even though they are processed one after the other.

If you want to keep them in sync, it is also possible to link the parameters of the left and right compressors using PatchWork’s macro parameters.

Enjoy!

  1. why not do 1 audio input – 1 audio output for the left
1 audio input – 1 audio output for the right ?

    simple, no ?

    1. Yes that’s definitely simpler, as explained in the article. But for some reason some people seem to prefer having their effects in parallel chains even though it’s more work to set them up this way!
