Today we’re looking at SoloVoice, an impressive plug-in that was built with Plug’n Script:

What makes SoloVoice particularly interesting to us is how much can be achieved with Plug’n Script. Rather than simply processing audio, it uses the plug-in as a foundation for a highly specialized real-time MIDI instrument, translating the nuances of a live vocal performance into musical control data.
The result is a very different way of interacting with virtual instruments: instead of playing notes from a keyboard, your voice becomes the performer. And because SoloVoice takes the current chord and scale into account, the generated MIDI can follow the harmonic context of the song rather than simply tracking pitch.
The demo also shows how this can be taken further with PatchWork. Its flexible MIDI routing makes it possible to connect SoloVoice to other instruments and plug-ins and build a complete performance setup around it.
