Blue Cat's Chorus

The Chorus effect was originally designed to simulate several voices: just as if several persons were playing together the same notes but with a variable delay between them. This is the effect you get with Blue Cat's Chorus when setting the rate parameter to a small value. But this plug-in also enables you to drastically change your sound and produce strange pitch modulation or crazy 'bubbles' effects. Just check the factory presets to get convinced by the quality and versatility of Blue Cat's Chorus.

This version is a mono effect, which means that you will get the same effect on left and right sides of your audio signal. You may also want to check the Stereo Chorus audio effect.

Blue Cat's Digital Peak Meter

Blue Cat's Digital Peak Meter is a simple yet powerful signal analysis tool: it measures the peak value of the signal and lets you record it as an automation curve, as well as the fact that your signal clips ('clipping' occurs when the signal is higher than the maximum value accepted by your audio system).

Thanks to this unique feature you can use your audio signal to control other effects: just copy and paste the generated automation envelope and assign it to any parameter of any effect on any track of your project. Many customers have successfuly used it for automated video processing: your audio track is now able to control your video effects! And your guitar is now able to influence your drums track...

Blue Cat's Flanger

Blue Cat's Flanger effect is very versatile: it may sound very harsh and metallic or on the contrary very soft. You can obtain a wide range of sounds with this plug-in. The included factory presets will make you explore the capabilities of this effect.

Very famous during the 70's and 80's, this effect can be used on almost any audio track: from drums to voices or guitars, from a subtle effect to a deep alien-like voice effect, enjoy it!

This effect is a mono effect: it will alter the sound the same way on the left and right channels of your audio signal. For a stereo flanging effect please listen to the Blue Cat's Stereo Flanger plugin.

Blue Cat's FreqAnalyst

Blue Cat's FreqAnalyst is a free spectrum analyzer plugin that lets you monitor the spectral content of your audio signal in real time. It has been designed to provide extreme smoothness and high resolution for both time and frequency: unlike most spectrum analyzers, Blue Cat's FreqAnalyst is able to display continuous variations even with a very high frequency resolution, thanks to its unique smooth interpolation algorithms.

Most aspects of the audio to frequency display conversion can be managed, which lets you total control over the monitoring. A special thresholding system has been developed to help you see the important parts of the spectrum easily. In case you need extra precision in a particular frequency range, you can zoom the display and check the part of the graph you are interested in.

As shown in the screenshots, you can use the new opacity management feature to make the plug-in window transparent and see what is behind: forget about your multiple display setup, you do not need it anymore! You can now check the spectrum of your mix and see your audio tracks behind. This feature is also particularly useful when you want to compare the spectrum of two tracks: just stack your two FreqAnalyst windows and see the difference!

This plug-in supports Blue Cat's skinning language, so that you can customize the user interface to your personal needs.

Blue Cat's Gain Suite

This plug-in suite is a simple series of gain utilities which let you control the volume of an audio track. The interest of these plug-ins resides resides in their particular features:

First, their automation and advanced MIDI control capabilities (the response curve of the MIDI controllers can be fully customized). Used together with one of our analysis tools or a MIDI controller, these plug-ins let you remotely control and automate the gain of each channel of the audio signal.

Another interesting and exclusive feature is the ability to link several instances of the same plug-in: thanks to our unique data sharing technology, you can control the gain of several tracks at the same time, with advanced response curve capabilities.

The plug-in bundle contains a stereo and a mid/side version for independent control of the left and right or mid and side channels. It can be very useful for stereo widening/narrowing. Additional information about stereo widening with mid/side processing can be found in this paper.

Last but not least, the skinning capabilities of this plug-in allow you to customize the way you interact with it.

Blue Cat's Phaser

Modeled after vintage analog phaser circuits, Blue Cat's Phaser reproduces this old vintage phasing effect that you can find on so many recordings, but with the precision of modern digital processing techniques. You can choose to apply up to 32 phasing stages, pushing the model to its limits, or create a subtle phasing effect with wet and feedback parameters set to a few percents.

You can also control the phase of the signal in the wet and feedback paths (these parameters can have negative values), which extends the possibilities of the model: the included factory presets will show you how many sounds you can get from this effect.

The MIDI control capabilities of this plug-in let you use it with any hardware or software MIDI controller, and the User Interface is totally customizable thanks to Blue Cat's Skinning Language support.

Blue Cat's Stereo Chorus

Based on Blue Cat's Chorus plugin technology, Blue Cat's Stereo Chorus has the same versatility and crystal-clear sounding capabilities as its little brother, plus a subtle to very deep stereo effect feature: just play with the 'stereo' control and get this famous widening stereo chorus effect. You will feel like the sound is turning around your head.

The 'Smooth Update' mechanism will let you enjoy continuous mono to stereo transitions without any audible 'click' or 'plop' : automation support is smooth and precise.

You can now control this plug-in with an external MIDI controller thanks to the included advanced MIDI CC mapping support.

Blue Cat's Stereo Flanger

Using the same algorithm as our Flanger plugin, this plug-in adds a unique feature to the original effect: you can smoothly transform it into a stereo flanging effect with a single slider. Push the 'stereo' slider of the user interface and hear the difference: the effect is turning around you head and the sound takes another dimension.

Simple yet powerful, this feature benefits from the Smooth Update mechanism, and thus does not introduce any 'plop' when you modify the parameters, on both DirectX and VST platforms.

Blue Cat's Triple EQ

Blue Cat's Triple EQ is a 3 bands semi-parametric equalizer that can be controlled as a single filter with customizable shape. It includes a low shelf filter, a high shelf filter and a boost/cut peak filter. Its wide range of gain (+/-40 dB per band) and bandwidth (.01 to 5 Octave) makes it very versatile to create any filter shape. The three filters are linked together so that when you change the center frequency or the bandwidth, the parameters of the three filters are modified accordingly: you can control the entire equalizer characteristics with a single mouse click.

The graph shows the computed frequency response of the plug-in, so that you can exactly know how your signal is processed. The controls are now directly available on the filter graph, making the design of the filter shape even easier.

The Smooth Update mechanism has been included in this plug-in so that you can control the EQ in real time with automation curve or MIDI: you will get an absolutely zipper-free clean and continuous time-varying equalization with absolutely no latency. It makes this plugin the ideal companion of our audio analysis tools for signal-dependant side chain filtering.
